So where did they all go? 2003 saw major changes in many of
the DAW products. Sony bought The Sonic Foundry (Sound Forge, Vegas etc),
Adobe swallowed Cool Edit from Syntrillium and re-imaged it as Audition, and Steinberg, which
is now the Audio Group of Pinnacle Systems reworked Wavelab. On the Mac side MOTU (Mark of the Unicorn)
still holds Digital Performer, Apple absorbed Emagic's Logic while Deck (Bias, Inc) continues
as an affordable no frills editor. Digidesigns Protools made major upgrades leaving behind
some of it's earler systems/hardware.
